These Go To ’11.
Because sometimes you need that extra push over the cliff.
A new year is always a great time to reflect, forget, and begin again. After the rocky year I just had I’ve never been more ready for a fresh start. So first let’s take a look back at my resolutions for 2010:
1) Find a job, not in a restaurant, that I enjoy. Hopefully before May. Hopefully one that pays. So it took until August, but if it hadn’t I never would have been able to do #2.
2) Travel to Europe, visit Germany.
3) Work on being more patient/understanding, especially I’m upset.
4) Make it down a Blue run on my snowboard, with good form the entire time. No falling leaf accepted. (Bonus, I did my first successful bump run on my board at Breck a few weekends ago, turning and everything!)
5) Go back to Texas and visit my friends. And go to Megan’s wedding, and see Carrie before she leaves for Paris…
Probably my most successful year yet! Honestly, I never keep resolutions, so I’m happy to see these crossed off. Going in to 2011 I’m going to keep the same mentality I had last year, instead of putting down a lot of things that would be “nice” to follow through on, I’m going to choose real goals that I can work towards.
1) Make it down a Black run on my snowboard, with good form the entire time.
2) Plan and take one amazing vacation, preferably to a place I’ve never been (Seattle?).
3) Accept dates when I’m asked on them.
4) Learn a new skill and perfect it.
5) Work on my time management skills, especially at work.
2011 is going to be very different from 2010, I can already feel it. Something has finally flipped and I’m going in to this year leaving a lot of grief behind. The past is the past and I need to move on, take that leap of faith. Something good is waiting for me, I just have to be patient until it comes.
Oh, Happy New Year!

[...] a ticket. I’m going to go ahead and say the whole situation was very serendipitous. One of my New Year’s resolutions for 2011 was to plan a trip somewhere I’d never been. I’d even mentioned the [...]
